7 sinister Coronation Street suspects who could run over Liz McDonald this Christmas
While she is still rather outspoken, she has changed quite a bit since then. Probably of Cilla Battersby-Brown, who left the show a few years previous to her arrival. Hilarity ensued when these two met each other in late and did not seem to get on. Almost as bad as Norris Cole. A couple of years after she married Kirk Sutherland, it emerged that she was still married to her first husband and Craig’s father. Narrowly avoided jail time.

Rumour has it that someone will knock down Liz Beverley Callard in a hit and run over the holidays, sending shockwaves around Weatherfield as everyone speculates over the culprit. Soap sources reckon Johnny Connor will be the prime suspect in the days that follow, but if you really stop and think about it, there are no shortage of Weatherfield locals who might want to cause her harm.
Here are seven characters we have our eye on… 1. Johnny Connor Rovers landlord Johnny had a very brief fling with Liz this year while grieving over the tragic loss of his son Aidan. When Johnny later decided to stick by his wife Jenny, he hoped that Liz would sling her hook by quitting her job at the pub… no such luck. If so, surely issuing a P45 would have been kinder? Jenny Connor Never underestimate Jenny.
Recent tabloid reports have revealed that Jenny will even start stalking her love rival in an alarming new plot. Could this just be the beginning of her evil plans? Come on, Jenny, what would Rita say? Mike Thornberry Guest character Mike was rightly annoyed with the McDonalds when his time on the cobbles came to an end in the summer. Fans watched from behind tear-stained cushions as Kevin Webster had to make the impossible decision to have his son Jack’s foot amputated following his sepsis diagnosis. After Kevin’s daughter Sophie hadn’t been aware of the severity of his condition to begin with whilst she was looking after him, she eventually took him to hospital where he was diagnosed with the illness.
When advised by the consultant that they would have to amputate Jack’s foot to keep him alive, Kevin initially refused as he didn’t want his son to miss out on what he deemed to be a normal childhood. However, he came around and realised that this would be the only way to save his son’s life, signing the papers to have his son’s foot amputated.

Corrie Kevin Webster cleared of child sex charges
There used to be a time when a soap airing an hour long edition meant that something huge and quite special was going to go down; it was event television if you like. But now, in the age of regular double episodes, it tends to just feel like two episodes mashed together and often is when Emmerdale or Corrie air for an hour. What a treat for fans this was and it genuinely felt like it was an episode meant to be shown over this timeslot as opposed to it suddenly being the next day halfway through.
There were two main strands to the episode. The Webster sofa-gate has been one of the best moments of my soap year and gave the divine Sally Dynevor and the writers behind her the perfect opportunity to reel out some fantastic lines. It also saw a much missed clash between Sally and Kevin and anything that involves Tim is always going to be worth a watch.
